Why do you assume God is the answer to everything?

Hello,

I'd like to know why you assume God is the answer to everything. Some of these people don't want to hear all this stuff about Jesus. Did you ever think that maybe the reason that some kids want to commit suicide is because of the pressure put on them concerning religion? People are constantly pushing others to believe in God... that's wrong... that's a sin. What good is it gonna do to convert people. I say leave them be. There is nothing wrong with people's beliefs. What would make me happy is if people would stop trying to convince me that there is a God... There isn't in my opinion... and I am very happy without a God. So, maybe you should look at that perspective as well.

My response is in Green:

Thanks for writing me. I have looked at that perspective. You said you are happy without God, okay, God loves you enough that He will give you what you want. When you die you will be separated from God for eternity. Now if I am wrong and there is no God then it does not matter at all, but if I am right and there is a God then separation will be a terrible thing. But the choice is up to you.

I don't try to push my beliefs on anyone, but for you to say that maybe it is my beliefs that are causing people's problems is not only short sighted but ignores the real state of the world. I have been told before that it is the moral laws that make the world a bad place. Is that how you feel? Do you believe if every one just did what they wanted to the world would be a better place? Try being a Police Officer for a while and I bet you will change your mind.

You also said that trying to get others to believe in God is a sin. What is sin? How can there be sin if there is no God? What do you really believe?

I think you probably already know what I believe, but just in case; I believe with all my heart that we were all born into this world as sinners and we have all sinned: (Romans 3:22-23 NIV) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, {23} for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...

I also believe that God demands death to everyone who sins: (Romans 6:23 NIV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I also believe that the only way for us to atone for our sins is through the blood of Jesus, whom I believe was God, came to earth as a human, lived a sinless life and died in our place for our sins. That He rose again to life and now is in heaven, where He will hear us when we call and will forgive us of our sins if we ask. (John 14:6 NIV) Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (Romans 5:8-9 NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. {9} Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! (Ephesians 2:8 NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--

Okay now that we have established what I believe; that anyone who does not accept Jesus Christ as their Savior will go to hell; how can you blame me for wanting to tell people? Should I sit back and watch people go to hell without saying anything. If I did that you should blame me and accuse me of hating people, which is a sin and would prove that I am not really a Christian.

You blame me for telling blind people not to cross the street because there are cars coming. Would I be nicer to tell them if they don't believe there are any cars go ahead and cross? That would be stupid! Whether you think I am wrong or not you should be able to understand that I honestly care about people and want them to live with God for eternity.

God loves you, or He would not have sent His Son to die so you don't have to, but like I said earlier He loves you enough to give you a choice and to then give you want you want. You just better be very sure of what it is you really want before you make any final decisions.

Well thanks for writing. I hope you will take your own advise. You said there is nothing wrong with people's beliefs, the problem was that you said it in the middle of attacking mine. I won't call you a hypocrite, but I would ask you to think about your own attitudes and ask yourself why the message of Jesus Christ is so offensive to you. If you truly answer that question it might cause you to see something about yourself. Then again maybe not, but at least you will have tried to be honest with yourself.

I have already answered these questions and I will stand by what I believe and I will continue to tell the blind people not to cross the street whether they want to hear it or not. I see the cars coming, they don't, so I feel it is my responsibility to warn them. Can you really say I am wrong?

Take care,

Ralph
