Thanks for a laugh and a half!

Well, as for going to hell for suicide... I hardly think hell could be worse off then my life right now. As far as I am concerned I was a terrible person in a previous life and I am living my HELL now!!!! God.. what a joke... I was a church going believing Christian and yet sh** only got worse.. and I don't want to hear the sh** about God will only give you as much as you can handle.. 'cause God obviously doesn't know me too darn well then... Thanks for a laugh and a half!

My response is in Green:

You know I don't think the problem is that God did not know you, I think the problem was that you did not really know God. I get a lot of messages from people who claim that they used to be Christians but have found that some other way was better, the problem is that most of them never really realized that they were sinners in need of God's help. All they wanted was for God to be a genie in the sky and make them happy, well He won't do that.

So let me go through this once. We live in this world (this hell) because of sin. People choose to do bad things and that makes it bad on all of us. We were all born with the tendency to do evil and we all do things which are wrong. God is holy and can't stand sin. He judgment for sin is death to the person who committed it. That leaves us all in a very bad position, because as I said we have all sinned. (Romans 3:22b-23 NRSV) For there is no distinction, {23} since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Yet God loves us, so He does not want us to be separated from Him for eternity, that is what spiritual death is. He could not just forgive and forget our sins because His holy nature would not allow it. So He sent His only Son, Jesus to earth to live a holy life and to die for our sins. He paid our debt for us, then He arose again and went back to heaven. Now if we believe that we are sinners and that Jesus died for us and we ask Him to forgive us, He will and we can have eternal life. It is that simple. That does not mean that all of our troubles on this earth will just disappear but it does mean that He will help us face those problems.

You say God is a joke, so let me ask you a question. You said that you believe you were a terrible person in a previous life and that is why you are living through hell now. Okay, let's say you are right. My question is this if there is no God, then who made you live this life as punishment for the past? Who decides? Who is in charge? There must be someone, or else you would not have to go through this. See you believe in a god too, maybe not the One and Only God but yet you believe in a higher more powerful force of some kind. Maybe you should think seriously about what you really believe. Give Jesus a chance, see what being a real Christian is al about.
