if your god is so great why am I so cursed? why was I given this life to suffer??? I don't understand, we all live to die and I'm not so sure what the point in the living is. I don't think your god is that great or maybe so many people wouldn't suffer so much. Give life for the sake of suffering... Why!!!
My response is in Green:
I have no way of knowing how your life has been cursed, but I will tell you that you are not alone. See there is a curse on all of creation. It is because of sin. You have judged God and He came up short, but do you have all the information to judge Him? Have you read the Bible and know why things happen in this life and what this life is all about? If not then you don't have half the information you need to make those judgments.
Originally God created mankind to enjoy His other created works, the land, the animals, etc.. However, man sinned and because of that sin all of creation was cursed. There was no death at all before Adam and Eve sinned. Because of the sin God pronounced a curse on all of creation. At that point everything started to die.
That is still not enough information to made a decision on God's character. You need to understand why He put the curse on creation. Again the answers are in His word, the Bible.
God has a holy nature, which means that He has never sinned, and that He is totally just and fair. Now His holy nature demands that He punish sin. That is why He put the curse on creation, because of Adam and Eve's sin. But you still don't have the whole picture. God's holy nature, made it impossible for Him to just forgive and forget sin. There has to be payment for the sin. The payment has to be death. Hebrews 9:22 (NIV) 22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Since that original sin every human being born has been born with an evil heart. Genesis 8:21 (NIV) 21 The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done." Notice God says that every inclination of our heart is evil from childhood. Have you ever noticed that you don't have to teach a child to lie, it comes natural? You have to teach them to tell the truth.
You asked what the point of living is. Well it started like I said so that we could enjoy the pleasures of the rest of creation, but that all changed when sin came into the world. Now life has one purpose and that is for us to get reconciled to God, so that we can enjoy what He has for us after this life.
You still don't have enough of the story, because so far all that has been said is that the law and God's holy nature demand death for our sins. Since everyone of us has sinned, we must all die. That is where the gospel (gospel means 'good news') comes in. God loved us: Romans 5:8-9 (NIV) 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! See God sent His only Son to die for us. Jesus shed His blood to pay for our sins. So the law and God's holy nature were accommodated, and His love and mercy were too. The best part is that we no longer have to die for our own sins. We no longer have to spend eternity paying for the sins that we committed in this life. All we have to do is believe in Jesus and ask Him to forgive us.
That does not mean that all our troubles will instantly disappear when we ask Him to come into our lives, because we still live in a cursed world. A world where most other people are still following their own evil desires and that often affects us and our quality of life. Yet we can look forward to a time when things will be put back like they were to begin with. Revelation 21:4 (NIV) 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
So the real question is not why is your life cursed, it is why do you keep living under the curse? God did not give life just for us to suffer, but that is what most people choose to do. They don't want to admit that they will some day have to answer to a holy God. They would rather judge Him by their standards. I will let God ask the question Himself: Job 40:8 (NIV) 8 "Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?"
God could rid the earth of all the evil and suffering and one day He will do just that. The problem with Him doing it now or at some time in the past is this: Romans 3:21-26 (NIV) But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished-- he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. Just so you understand, the point is that God wanted to show justice and mercy.
If God killed every human the moment they sinned, we would all be dead. That would not be any better in my book. There would be no ability to gain forgiveness because you would be dead and once you are dead your fate is sealed. God allows the sin to continue because to stop the sin it would be necessary to destroy us all. So in His love for us and since He wants as many people as are willing to come to Him, God allows the world to continue.
I am not saying this is what is happening to you, but I know that sometimes God makes bad things happen to people so that they will seek Him. Amos 4:6-10 (NIV) 6 "I gave you empty stomachs£ in every city and lack of bread in every town, yet you have not returned to me," declares the LORD. 7 "I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up. 8 People staggered from town to town for water but did not get enough to drink, yet you have not returned to me," declares the LORD. 9 "Many times I struck your gardens and vineyards, I struck them with blight and mildew. Locusts devoured your fig and olive trees, yet you have not returned to me," declares the LORD. 10 "I sent plagues among you as I did to Egypt. I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured horses. I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camps, yet you have not returned to me," declares the LORD.
If you want a better life and want you life to have meaning you should get to know God. He is not just my God, He is your God too whether you accept Him or not does not change that.
