This is a great book for those who are interested in history, whether strickly military history or history in general. That is because our military history so closely aligns with our over all history that they are almost one and the same.
I really enjoyed the book and learned many things, in fact I am thinking about using this book as a history text book for my homeschooler. I was also angered by parts of the book. Angered not at the book but at the facts that I learned. We have made some very grave mistakes in our history and I see that we are continuing to make the same type of mistakes today. Mistakes that have cost many lives. Mistakes like not trusting Britain after World War II because we thought they were too Imperialist, but instead trusting the Soviet Union because we thought they weren't. Many mistakes like that, that eventually cost American lives. Also abandoning friends, such as the South Vietnamese, the Iraqis who took our advice and tried to overthrough Saddam, and the list goes on and on.
As I said a very good book if you enjoy history, but sad at the same time.
