Jesus is one of the Trinity.  The Trinity is hard to grasp in our minds.  But it is God in three beings:  The Father, the Son (Jesus), and The Holy Spirit.  The main thing to remember is that they are all God.  You don't need to understand it, just believe it.

Jesus came to Earth as a baby.  Born to the virgin, Mary.  So, now Jesus is God, but He is now also a human.  Unlike us, Jesus was born totally sinless.  You may think that everybody is born sinless, but that's wrong.  Adam was the first person to have sinned.  And he was a man.  So our sins are passed down from our Earthly fathers.  Since Mary was a virgin, Jesus didn't have an Earthly father, therefore he was sinless.

That does not mean that his life was painless, and that he wasn't tempted by Satan.  But he didn't lie, cheat, steal, or anything else that would have proclaimed him a sinner.  If he was a sinner, then he only died for our sins, and that we have no hope whatsoever.  But he wasn't.

Jesus died for our sins, so that we would be cleansed, and free of sin.  It is impossible for man (man and woman) to be in Heaven while they are sinners.  Since Adam and Eve sinned, it was impossible for us to line with the Father.  People used to have to receive forgiveness through the blood of sacrificed animals.  When Jesus died, he became the sacrifice.  His blood covered our sins, so through his death, we were forgiven.

To live in Heaven, and to have your sins washed away through the blood of Jesus, all you have to do is believe that Jesus is God, and that he came to Earth to die for our sins, and that he came back to life.  Then, you have to ask him to forgive you, to come into your heart, and be your LORD and Savior, and to cleanse you of your sins.
