If no one helps me soon, I know I will kill myself.

Hi, I've tried to kill myself many times. but god always stops me. all my friends have told me theres no point in killing myself but they don't no the things I go threw. the things that go threw my mind every night. I have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I love him alot and if it wasnt for him then I wouldnt be here right now but I still try to kill myself even though I have this relationship with him. ive told my mother that I try to kill myself but when I told her about my fathers girlfriend yelling at me that was all she wanted to talk about. I don't think she wants to belive it. I had a consler but she bugged the livin s*** out of me. I only saw her during the school days though. (she was my school consler) I'm only 14 and I no I still have a life in front of me if I don't kill myself but I dont see whats the point in living a life of pain cause thats going to be the life I will end up living. I hope you can help me. cause if no one helps me soon I don't no what im going to do. bye.

My response is in Green:

I am glad that God keeps stopping you. I will tell you that you need to work on your relationship with Christ. You say you love Him, but that you don't see any reason to live. How about Jesus as a reason to live? Let me give you some scripture that might help.

(1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV) [19] Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; [20] you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. We are not our own because Jesus died to pay the price for our salvation, so we should honor Him with our bodies. That is pretty hard to do while you kill yourself.

(Matthew 16:24 NIV) Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." The point of this verse is much the same. Jesus is saying that once we decide to follow and love Him, then we must put Him and what He wants in our lives first. You say you don't see a reason to live because your whole life will be just more pain. That is a wrong thought, you have no idea what God has planned for your life. But let's say that the only thing He wants you to do is to witness to one person so that they will come to know Him. Think of that, you could be the reason one person makes it or does not make it to heaven. Isn't one persons soul worth living for? If you say no, then you are also saying that what God wants is not worth living for either. That is where the problem begins. Let me show you another verse: (1 John 2:3-6 NIV) [3] We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. [4] The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [5] But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: [6] Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. Think for a moment what that passage is saying. What did Jesus do? He willingly went to His death on the cross, not because He had done anything wrong but because you and I were sinners.

That is my whole point, you say you love Jesus and that you have a relationship with Him, but, at least so far, He is not worth living for. If you truly love Him and want what He wants, you will start living your life for Him. This is a battle for your soul. God loves you and He has plans for you, but Satan hates you and wants you to kill yourself. You have to ask yourself why Satan would want you to kill yourself. The answer is right in your Bible. It is because self murder is a sin and he wants you to sin so that you will be separated from God. Don't let him win, you must fight those feelings and start wanting to live for Christ.

I am going to be tough on you, but so what if someone yells at you? So what if you are not the most popular person in school? If you follow Christ you will spend eternity in heaven with Him. In 10,000 years what difference will it make who liked you or who yelled at you? Get out your Bible and start reading it. Start following Christ by making Him first in your life.
