I'm slowly losing this battle

I know you think your doing good hosting this web page but your not believe me I came across your web site looking for answers, but just became more depressed I truly hope there is life after death and I'll enter the kingdom of god one day Most people who commit suicide aren't drunks or drug users, there people like me who unfortunately have a chemical imbalance in the brain The brain like the heart and lungs is an organ which can suffer from abnormalities I'm sure your intentions were well ment but maybe you should think of the consequences of your ideology has before making further statements Sorry if you think I'm having a go at you I was just venting my anger after visiting other religious sites hoping to find answers to the hurt I feel Yes I have sought medical help and therapy I pray every night and ask for help maybe one day christ will hear my prayer and help me I just hope it's soon because I'm slowly losing this battle

My response is in Green:

Thank you for writing me. I am sorry that you feel I am misguided. I don't have my page up to make myself feel good, I have it up because I have been where a lot of these people are right now and I want them to know what helped me.

You should have seen at the bottom of my page where I addressed chemical imbalances and other physical problems. However, even if you have a physical ailment that does not mean that you do not have to answer to God for your actions. You mentioned that you have been praying to Christ and maybe someday He will answer you. Please forgive me for being blunt, but the question has to be answered, have you ever admitted that you were born a sinner and need salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ? If not then that is where you need to start. We are all born into this world as sinners and we are all therefore under a death sentence. Until we get out of that situation nothing else really matters. Our lives will never be what they should be until we are reconciled to God, and the only way is through Jesus. (John 14:6 NIV) Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

I don't believe in candy coating anything. The truth is too important to just brush aside. I believe with all my heart that if a person does not accept Jesus Christ as their Savior they will go to hell. So why would I tone down what I say? Should I allow people to kill themselves or die of old age without knowing that they need Christ? I don't think so.

Exactly what about my site depressed you worse than you were before you came to it? Surely finding out that God loves you enough to send His Son to die for your sins should not have depressed you. That is the best news mankind has ever heard.

Let me ask you a question. If my site said that all you have to do to have a better life and get to heaven is send $100 to such and such a church, would you still be upset? Or would $100 be a great deal for eternity in heaven? Well it won't even cost you $100, it is free!! Yet I am wrong for telling people about this free gift that God has for them?

You said you truly hope there is life after death and that you hope you will enter the kingdom of God one day. But do you understand how a person gets there? If not then you should find out. A person can only get into heaven if they admit they are a sinner and that there is nothing they can do for themselves. (Ezekiel 18:4 NIV) For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son--both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die. (Romans 3:23b NIV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... If they believe that God sent His Son to die for them, to pay the death sentence that is hanging over their head. (John 3:16 NIV) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. That He rose again after three days and will forgive them if they ask. Then all you have to do is ask Him to forgive you. (Romans 5:8 NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

All you have to do is believe. (John 5:24 NIV) "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

You say that your problem is a chemical imbalance, okay, but that does not absolve you of your obligations to God. If you came to my site to find comfort, then you are rational enough to understand what God has done for you. It also means that even though your life might be far from perfect you have the mental ability to choose to follow God or reject Him. If you reject Him you will be lost, it is that simple. That might sound like bad news, but it is part of the good news, because it means that if you do accept His free gift of salvation you will be saved.

Your life on this earth might still be less than perfect, but you can look forward to a time when all that changes. Here is one of my favorite verses because it shows what will be: (Revelation 21:4 NIV) He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Suicide is not the answer. If you don't know Christ it is not the answer because it will send you to hell just that much quicker. No matter what your problems are here in this life, they cannot compare to what hell will be like. At least in this life you can look forward to dying. If you are a Christian, that even begins to sound good because to be absent from the body (to be dead physically) is to be with Christ in heaven. But it is up to God when that happens, it is not our choice to make. Even if you don't know Christ you can look forward to dying, because you can convince yourself that dying will take away the pain. However, if you die and don't know Christ and you find out I am right that hell is infinitely worse than what is going on now, you have a problem, because you can't even long for death anymore, you are stuck with your situation. There are no second chances. (Hebrews 9:27 NIV) Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment...

I know that I am pretty blunt sometimes, but like I said at the beginning it is too important to take the chance of someone misunderstanding. You might not like what I have to say, but at least you will be able to understand it. If a child is reaching for the stove and their parent tells them not to because it is hot, the child might not like it, but does that mean the stove is really not hot? Of course not. If the child tells the parent that they just have a hard time listening and therefore have an excuse for touching the stove, well that mean when they do touch it they won't get burned? Of course not. See truth is always truth, whether we like it or not. The truth is God loves you and wants you to have a personal relationship with you, but He will not force you, it is up to you. Start by asking God to help you, to understand and believe. Get yourself right with Him, then ask Him to help you with your other problems. God cares more about where you spend eternity then He does about whether you are comfortable now or not. That does not mean He does not care about your life now, it means that until you get right with Him, He will not address the other problems. Once that is taken care of then you are His child and He will help you deal with your life. Don't give up the comfort and peace that God has offered you. Let Him help you.

Maybe this message has upset you too, if so I am sorry, but don't let me (the messenger) turn you off from the message of hope. I will pray for you.
