I want to go home to heaven

You know what? I checked your website for hope and encouragement and all I got was a guilt trip. I DID NOTHING WRONG!! I'm not afraid to face judgment because I have always tried my best to do what's right. NOTHING WORKS. I prayed, God knows I prayed!! I have "given my problems to Jesus" I've prayed for strength, and he ignores me too. I don't drink, I don't do drugs...I'm a good person, I'm fed up, I've had twenty some years of trying and nothing works. I'm given my heart and soul to those I love, I've worked harder than most people and I've only gotten abuse and rejection. I want to go home to heaven!!

My response is in Green:

Thanks for writing me. I am sorry all you got from my web page was a guilt trip. You talk like you are a Christian, yet I have to wonder, because you said several things that most Christians would not say. You said that you have done nothing wrong. Okay, maybe you mean recently, I don't know, but I do know that if you feel that you were never a sinner then you probably never accepted Jesus Christ as your savior. My reasoning is this, if you never realized you were a sinner, then you would not realize you need a savior. The Bible says that we have all fallen short of the glory of God. It further says that we are all sinners and under a death sentence from God, for the evil we have done. The good news is that Jesus Christ has paid our debt and all we have to do is believe on Him and ask Him to forgive us.

You said you are not afraid to face judgment because you have always tried to do your best. I am sorry to tell you but your best is not good enough. Here is what the Bible says about our good works: (Isaiah 64:6 NIV) All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

(Romans 3:22-23 NIV) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, {23} for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...

See we are all in the same boat, we are doomed, unless we accept the free gift that God has given to us; salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. That should not be bad news, it should be good news.

You also mention that you have prayed and that you have given your troubles to Jesus but nothing works. That Jesus ignores you. Again I ask, have you ever told Jesus that you know you are a sinner and in need of His forgiveness? If not then you are talking to yourself when you pray. God only acknowledges prayers of salvation from sinners. He does love you and He does care about you, but first things first. You need to accept the fact that you were born as a sinner and that your only hope is through Jesus Christ.

Now let me step back a moment, if you have truly accepted Jesus as your savior in the past and are having these types of problems you need to go talk to your pastor or other Christian friend. We all have struggles and I will not try to make your's sound unimportant that is not my intent; however, you have to realize that as long as you are living you will struggle. God will help you, He might not take the struggle away, but He will help you handle it. You have to trust Him and lean on Him.

There are no easy answers, and that includes suicide.
