I feel like I should kill myself

hey i feel like i should kill myself...cause i don't feel like i'm wanted on this earth...everything in my life is going wrong right now...and i don't know how to fix it...

My response is in Green:

Why do you think you should kill yourself just because your life is a mess? What do you think you will gain by being dead? What problems will being dead help?

If you don't know how to fix your life, then maybe you are ready to give God a chance to run your life, after all He can't do as bad a job as you have right? I am not trying to pick on you, we are all the same, we just can't do it right. The majority of that problem is due to the world we live in, it is corrupt and so are we.

We are all corrupt because of sin, which came into world when Adam and Eve sinned. Since that time we have all been born into this world as sinners. We have all done bad things and those bad things are called sins. Sin is an offense against God who is holy. Because He is holy and because sin is an offense against Him, we are in trouble. His holy nature demands that there be punishment for sins. The real problem comes from what the punishment is for sin, it is death to the sinner. Not just physical death, but also spiritual death. (Ezekiel 18:4 NIV) For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son--both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.

Spiritual death is the real problem, it is separation from God for eternity. It is punishment and there is no nice way to say it, it is torment for eternity. That is what you get if you kill yourself. Not a great way to solve the problems of this life.

There is an alternative and God provided it for us. He loves us even though we are sinners. (Romans 5:8 NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God's holy nature kept Him from just ignoring our sins, they had to be paid for, so He sent His only Son to earth as a human (while remaining God) to die for our sins. After He died, God raised Him from the dead and now Jesus is in heaven and will forgive us from our sins if we ask Him to. That is how you should deal with your problems, take them to God and ask Him to forgive you and help you straighten out your life. Nothing else will work, suicide certainly won't take care of the problems, it would just give you even worse problems with no way to ever take care of them.

I will be straight up with you. People have a hard time accepting God's free gift because in order to accept it they have to admit they have sinned. They can't claim to be a victim and have never done anything wrong. They also have to admit that there is a God to whom they will one day have to answer for all the things they have done. The silly thing is that if they will admit that and ask for forgiveness then they won't ever have to answer for those things. (Psalms 103:11-12 NIV) For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; {12} as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Transgressions are the same things as sins. (Hebrews 10:17 NIV) Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." God says He won't remember our sins because Jesus paid the price for them, so you see that arguments for why people don't accept Christ are stupid. They are the ones who lose out. Don't let this happen to you. God loves you and wants to help you straighten out your life, but you have to deal with that sin and its punishment before you can do anything else.

Remember suicide is not the answer, it is just trading temporary troubles for permanent ones. As long as you have the breath of life in your lungs you can have hope that things will get better, but once you are death your fate is sealed. Once you die what ever problems you have will remain with you for eternity, you better take care of them before you die.

All you have to do is believe that God loves you and sent His Son to die for you. Then ask Him to forgive you and He will. At that point He will help you with your other problems. All your problems won't go away the moment that you accept Christ as your savior, but things will change because at that point you won't have to face those problems alone. Get a Bible and find out who God is for yourself. Ask Him to help you understand, He will.
